Temporary Shelter for Homeless Adults and Families

SWAN operates one shelter for victims of homelessness. It is located in Olney, Illinois, and has capacity for 25 people. Availability for shelter is first-come, first-served. To see if space is available, or to arrange transportation to the shelter, please call 888-715-6260.
What To Bring To The Shelter
You are encouraged to bring the following items: Driver's License/State ID card, social security card for all household members, birth certificate, LINK card
Having these documents will make it easier to apply for housing and employment.
What To Expect At The Shelter
Our shelters have dormitory-styled rooms with bunk beds, so they are intended to be a shared space. Besides the sleeping rooms, the shelters have a common dining area, living room, and outdoor areas for recreation. A full-time cook is on staff to provide two hot meals each day, and breakfast is a serve-yourself cold meal. Clients can stay at our shelter for up to 45 days.
