Position: Victim Advocate for Domestic Violence Services
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience. Must be able to demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and basic computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 25 pounds. Job Responsibilities: The Victim Advocate works out of the SWAN Olney Office. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The Victim Advocate assists victims/survivors of domestic violence through the civil and criminal justice process, provides information regarding legal remedies, the Illinois Domestic Violence Act, shelter services, crime witness information and other SWAN services. The Victim Advocate assists victims with efforts to obtain emergency orders of protection, plenary orders of protection and filing criminal complaints. Victim Advocates provide follow-up supportive services and safety planning. The Victim Advocate must answer telephone calls, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and be able to utilize other program-specific computer programs for the domestic violence programs. The service area for the Olney Position is Richland and surrounding counties. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel within the service area. This position requires a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Schedule: 4am - 12pm Monday - Friday Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience. Must be able to demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and basic computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 25 pounds. Job Responsibilities: This shift is Monday - Friday, 4am - 12pm. Client Advocate position reports to Resident Shelter Supervisor. Once hired, the candidate must take 40 hours of domestic violence training. The successful candidate will also have responsibility of answering the 24-7 hotline. The CA will provide advocacy, information, and referrals to federal, state, community, and shelter resources or programs to meet the needs of emergency shelter residents. Position: Adult Protective Services (APS) Caseworkers - Olney Office and Salem Office
Qualifications: College degree is required as approved by the Illinois Department on Aging. Must demonstrate initiative, interpersonal skills, and good communication skills. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to make home visits, and be able to lift 25 pounds. Caseworkers are reimbursed monthly for mileage at the IRS rate. Job Responsibilities: This is a full-time position- 40 hours per week. The Adult Protective Services Caseworker must complete training through the Illinois Department on Aging as well as complete 40 hours of Domestic Violence Training. Successful candidates must pass background checks through the Illinois State Police and the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS). Successful candidates must have good word composition skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and be able to complete all case notes/documentation in a web-based program with the Illinois Department on Aging.
